Get answers to common questions about Microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion mechanically exfoliates the outermost dead skin cells and surface buildup, revealing fresher skin underneath. This smooths texture, reduces dullness, and softens fine lines, creating a brighter, more even complexion with minimal downtime.
Many clients with mild sensitivity or acne benefit from microdermabrasion, but severe rosacea, active cystic acne, open wounds, or very thin skin may not be suitable. We evaluate your skin and recommend a patch test or alternative treatments when needed.
Visible improvements often appear after one session, especially smoother texture and brighter tone. For lasting results or targeted concerns like fine lines or discoloration, a series of four to six treatments spaced two to four weeks apart is usually recommended.
A trained technician will cleanse your skin, then use a gentle microdermabrasion device to exfoliate. You may feel mild abrasion or warmth; sessions typically take about 30 to 45 minutes and finish with soothing serums and sunscreen.
Side effects are usually mild and short-lived—temporary redness, slight sensitivity, or minimal flaking. Avoid heavy sun exposure, abrasive products, and retinoids for several days. Use SPF and gentle moisturizers and follow aftercare instructions for best healing.
Avoid strong exfoliants, chemical peels, and topical retinoids for at least five to seven days prior. Keep skin hydrated, skip tanning, and disclose medications or recent treatments. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin for the safest, most effective results.
