Body Sculpting Aftercare: First 72 Hours Checklist
By Cryo Body Contour & Sculpting | July 13, 2026
A lot of people come in telling us it was “such a pleasure” working with our team because we don’t rush you and we explain what’s happening. Now the biggest thing you can do at home is simple: wear your compression exactly as directed for the first 72 hours. It helps hold your new contour in place, supports swelling, and keeps your results on track. In Riverdale GA 30274, especially during our humid summers, aftercare matters even more because heat and swelling can sneak up fast.

Quick reminder: Body sculpting uses controlled cold on areas like the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks to target fat cells, then your body clears them out over time. That’s why your home steps matter. You’re supporting the process between sessions.
0 to 24 hours: compression first, then calm everything down
Right after your session, we generally recommend you keep things low-key. Body sculpting isn’t “downtime, ” but your body is still responding to the cold exposure in that area.
Do this today
- Wear your compression garment the way we showed you. Smooth it out so it’s snug and even, not folded or digging in.
- Hydrate more than you think you need. Your body is doing cleanup work over the next few weeks.
- Keep the treated area clean and dry. If your skin feels a little tender or numb, that can happen.
- Light movement is fine. A casual walk often helps you feel better without stirring up extra swelling.
Skip this for now
- Intense workouts, heavy lifting, or anything that makes you sweat hard.
- Heat: saunas, hot tubs, heated blankets, long hot showers.
- Alcohol for at least 48 to 72 hours. It tends to dehydrate you and can make swelling feel worse.
Riverdale summer tip: Use AC, stay out of direct sun on the treated area, and if you’re puffy, a cool pack over clothing for short periods is usually soothing. No heat right now.
24 to 72 hours: protect your shape and don’t “out-train” your aftercare
This is the window where people either keep their momentum or accidentally slow it down. We see the best outcomes when you treat these three days like they matter, because they do.
Compression garments after body sculpting
Keep wearing compression as directed. If you’re getting arms sculpted or abdomen work, this is what helps reduce that “puffy” look and supports a cleaner outline as your body starts eliminating the targeted fat cells.
Can I exercise after body sculpting?
We generally recommend waiting 48 to 72 hours before intense workouts. Light walking is great. If you do go back sooner, keep it easy and pay attention to swelling or soreness. Pushing hard too early can make you feel more inflamed, especially in hot, humid Riverdale weather.
Showering and hygiene
Quick, lukewarm showers are usually fine unless we told you otherwise. Skip baths, pools, and soaking until we clear you. And don’t scrub the treated area aggressively. Gentle is the move right now.
Days 4 to 7: the “do the work once I get home” week
One of the most honest things we hear is, “As long as I continue to do the work once I get home, I’ll have my desired look in no time.” That’s exactly it. Cryo body sculpting is non-invasive, but it still needs partnership. We handle the controlled cold and placement in the room. You handle the habits that keep inflammation down and keep your body moving.
Keep doing: hydration, compression (if we told you to continue), light to moderate activity, and balanced meals with protein and fiber.
Still avoid: long heat exposure and sun on the treated area if you swell easily. Heat plus sweat can make you feel tender for longer.
If you’re a commuter or you work shifts around I-75 or I-285, keep it simple: water bottle, compression, and a walk break. That routine beats an “all or nothing” week every time.
Products and habits that protect body sculpting results
You don’t need a whole cabinet of products. You need the right basics, used consistently.
- Gentle cleanser and moisturizer: keep the skin comfortable, especially if you feel dry or a little sensitive.
- Supportive massage or lymphatic-style movement: follow our guidance on what’s appropriate for your treated area. This is often where people feel “unstuck” with swelling.
- Sleep and hydration: boring, yes. Effective, also yes.
And if your goal is visible contouring, plan for multiple sessions. People regularly tell us they “can’t believe the results so far in just a few sessions.” That usually comes from consistency plus aftercare.
When to reach out in Riverdale GA 30274 (and what’s normal)
Mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising can happen, especially in areas with tighter clothing or compression. It also isn’t unusual to feel “different” before you look different. Your body is clearing out targeted fat cells gradually.
Reach out right away if you have severe pain, fever, rapidly expanding swelling, or sudden asymmetry that keeps getting worse. Don’t wait it out.
"you just have to make sure to follow directions"
